NPMA Reports Homeowners’ Biggest Summer Pest Problems and How to Avoid Them


June 19. (Fairfax,Va.) - In a recent survey conducted by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), a nationally representative sample of American homeowners sounded off about the pests that concern them most and pose the biggest threat to their health and safety during the summer. Mosquitoes came in on top followed by ants, ticks, wasps and hornets, while spiders round out the top five. The poll conducted in early June 2006, had a margin error of plus or minus 3.47 percent.  (Read Entire Article)


NATIONAL PEST MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION RESEARCH SHOWS MORE HOMEOWNERS IN THE NORTH-CENTRAL REGION CITE MOSQUITOES AS TOP PEST PROBLEM

June 8 (Fairfax, Va.) – A 2005 research study sponsored by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) found that comparatively more homeowners living in the north central region of the United States mention mosquito problems than any other region. More than a quarter (26%) of these homeowners stated that they had experienced problems with them in the past year.

Although mosquitoes topped the list in this region, other areas also listed this pest as a key problem: 24% of Southern respondents had also experienced problems with mosquitoes in 2005. (Read Entire Article)

June 5 (Fairfax, Va.) – According to research conducted by the National Pest Management Association in 2005, 67% of homeowners are most concerned about pests during the summer. Barbeque season begins when the temperature heats up, the same time that insects become the most active. These prevalent summer pests can cause painful stings and carry diseases, as well as becoming a nuisance for you and your guests.
